Who we insure
Insurance for Home Care and Personal Care Agencies
Caregivers spend hours alone with seniors and people with disabilities, often handling medications, money and transportation. Claims tend to involve falls, theft allegations and caregiver injuries, so coverage needs to address each of them.
This page is for
- Non-medical home care and companion care
- Personal care / ADL assistance
- Medicaid waiver and respite providers
- Franchise home care agencies
Your risks
The risks we plan around
Client falls and injuries
Allegations that a caregiver failed to prevent a fall or caused an injury during bathing or transfers.
Theft of client property
Missing jewelry, cash or cards. Standard crime policies don't cover clients' property without third-party coverage.
Abuse allegations
Vulnerable clients and one-on-one care make A&M coverage essential, and many standard policies exclude it.
Caregiver injuries
Lifting, transfers and slips make workers' comp the largest premium for many agencies.
Wage-and-hour disputes
Overtime, travel time and live-in shifts are common sources of employment claims.

FAQ
Home Care insurance questions
Do non-medical agencies need professional liability?
Yes. Personal care such as bathing, transfers and medication reminders is a professional service, and many GL policies exclude it. Many carriers package GL and PL for home care.
Our state requires a bond. Is crime insurance the same?
Sometimes. It depends on the required wording. Tell us which agency requires it and we'll place the right instrument.
Do you insure franchise agencies?
Yes. We'll make sure your coverage meets the franchisor's requirements as well as your state's.
